NEW West Somerset Railway Annual Pass.
The West Somerset Railway’s Annual Pass is a brilliant way to visit the West Somerset Railway as many times as you like throughout the season, valid for a period of 12 months from the date of issue.
Family: 2 adults and up to 2 young persons aged 5 -17 (or dogs) or 1 Adult and 3 Young Persons aged 5 - 17 (or dogs) - £238.00 per year. (Additional children can be added at £48 each.)
Individual Adult: £99.00 per year.
Individual Young Person Annual Pass: £48.00
If you have travelled within 7 days of your application for an annual pass, you can exchange your train ticket for the equivalent discount against your annual pass. Please note that this can not be done retrospectively, therefore if you would like to deduct a ticket from the price of your Annual Pass, please do not purchase online. Please complete the form and hand in your application along with proof of purchase to Minehead Station. We can then take payment manually and deduct the price of your ticket at this point.
Please note, due to the volume of Annual Pass applications that come in each week, your card will be processed at the earliest opportunity, and will be dated to expire one year and 5 days from this date. We are unable to hold onto your annual pass application to process on a specified date.

Annual Pass Information & Advice
Our Annual Pass provides a great way to make repeat visits to the West Somerset Railway throughout the year.
The Family Annual pass permits two named adults and up to 2 Young Persons (5 – 17 years) or One Adult and up to 3 Young Persons (5-17 years) to travel on any of our normal timetabled services throughout the year (excludes Pink and Purple Timetable Days)
The Individual Annual Pass permits the named holder to travel on many of our normal timetabled services throughout the year (excludes Pink and Purple Timetable Days).
The passes are only available in advance from our Head Office, West Somerset Railway, The Railway Station Minehead TA24 5BG, the creation of the cards can take up to 2 weeks, please ensure you allow this time before your next visit to apply. Please note this may take longer at peak times of year.
If you purchase your annual pass through the website, you will receive an email confirming your order, this email will not be your annual pass and can not be used for travel. You may only travel with a full annual photocard and validity card which can take up to two weeks to be received.

What does ‘Annual Pass’ with photo ID mean for me?
We are providing you with a personalised, credit card size, Annual Pass which includes a photograph of each of the pass-holders. Accompanying the pass will be a validity card. The validity card and photo card must be presented at the same time.
You must supply passport-sized photographs. We will require one photograph of the Annual Pass holder for an individual Annual Pass application, or up to two photographs - one of each for any adult named on the family pass.
If applying online, all photo files must be either .jpg, .gif or .png format and must only show a full face view. Digital images may be sent by email to [email protected] clearly marked with the full names of the proposed pass-holders.
FAILURE TO SUPPLY SUITABLE PHOTOGRAPHS WILL DELAY THE SUPPLY OF YOUR PASS.
Can I lend my Annual Pass to someone else?
No - The Annual Passes with photo ID is strictly not transferable and can only be used by the named photo card holder.
Are there any days when the pass is not valid?
• Yes – The pass cannot be used on special event days marked Purple or pink on our timetable,
• The pass is not valid on our pre-booked Christmas services or on any evening or special event service.
Can I use the pass when booking Dining Experiences?
No – The pass cannot be used on our pre-booked dining services.
The pass is NOT valid for evening dining trains including Murder Mystery and Quantock Belle Dining Services.
Regarding the Family Annual Pass, must both named adults always be present?
No – Only one of the named adults must be present when the pass is used. Any adults who travel with you and who are not named on the pass will need to pay the appropriate fare.
Can I bring extra adults with me?
Yes - Other adults, not named on the pass, may travel with you, but they must pay the correct fare for the journey undertaken.
Can I bring additional children with me and use the Annual Family Pass?
The West Somerset Railway Annual Family Pass permits 1 named Adult and up to 3 Young Persons, or 2 named Adults and up to 2 Young Persons. Under 5’s travel free. Additional children in the party are subject to the correct fare for the journey being paid.
I have a dog who travels with me. Can the dog travel free in lieu of children?
Yes – A dog may travel in the place of a child on a family pass, if all pass holders are present, then your dog can travel at just £3.00 for any journey.
Are there any additional concessions for less able visitors?
No – Annual Passes already provide excellent value for money. No other discounts are applicable.
What happens if I lose my Annual Pass?
If you lose your pass, you may request a replacement. All replacements will be issued at the discretion of the General Manager and will incur a charge of £20.00.
Can I change the name(s) of the adult(s) shown on the pass during the year?
Yes - One name/photo change is permitted in any 12 month period. A name/photo change will incur a charge of £20.00.
Will you contact me when my pass needs renewing?
Yes - providing you tick the box to receive communications from us we can send you a reminder. If you do not select the communications box we will be unable to contact you.
