  • Do you issue refunds?

    There will be no refunds offered for unused tickets. Depending on circumstance, tickets may be exchanged for use at a later date. Refunds are only considered when the West Somerset Railway PLC are unable to run a service.

  • What happens when I buy a ticket online?

    On completion of your order, you will be emailed a DigiTicket containing a barcode and a booking reference number.  Present this ticket on arrival, or if you don’t have a printer, please bring them on the a smartphone.

  • Where do I go upon arrival? / Where is the Fast Track desk?

    Further information regarding your what to do and where to go when you arrive will be emailed to you one week before you travel, and will contain information relating to which table/compartment has been reserved for you and all up to date covid restrictions in place. 

  • I don't have a printer...

    Then you may bring your confirmation on a smartphone.

  • How long will I be in the activity / event last for?

    Depends on your journey, please see our timetable on our website for more details.

  • Is Car Parking available?

    We have limited free parking at Bishops Lydeard. There is a pay and display car park next to Minehead Station.

  • Can I make group bookings online?

    To ensure that all your group requirements are met, we require all group bookings to be made by telephone on 01643 700398. It is important to book groups in as soon as possible as we have limited capacity on our services. 

  • Is there wheelchair access?

    We have disabled access on all of our services, if you have booked your ticket online and require your seats to be reserved in the accessible coach please contact us either by phone 01643 704996 or email [email protected] to let us know your reference number and we will ensure a note is put on your booking to ensure your seats are reserved in the right coach.

  • Do you have Toilets available?

    Toilets are available at Bishops Lydeard and Minehead Station, we also have toilets available on the train.

  • Can dogs travel on the West Somerset Railway?

    Dogs are permitted to travel on standard West Somerset Railway services however are not permitted to travel in the buffet car, or in any carriage where catering is being served by the company. Dogs are not permitted to travel on any of the seats and must remain on the floor at all times. Dogs are not permitted on Dining services which include Tea Coffee and Cake, Steam and Cream, Cheese and Cider and Fish and Chip services. If you are unsure of whether your four legged friend can join you, please contact the railway to double check.

  • Can I pay with cash?

    Tickets are being sold online in most cases, if you are unable to book online please call us on 01643 704996 and we will be able to assist you. Cash can be accepted for tickets, hwoever this would need to be paid to the Minehead information office ahead of your travel date. Please contact us for more details.
