Over the past few months the West Somerset Railway PLC, has been looking to strengthen the membership of our Board. If anything we have more to do in these troubled times, than if we were actually running the train service we had hoped to be.

Joint & Position Statement regarding Somerset & Dorset Railway Trust

A meeting was set up between representatives of the 3 bodies, to discuss the dispute between the WSR PLC and the S & D Trust, concerning the S & D Trusts occupation of the site at Washford. This followed representations to all three bodies by members, volunteers and others, and press comments.

Track Trespass Incidents

Sadly, the West Somerset Railway (WSR) is getting some alarming reports about increasing incidents of trespass on the WSR at various locations at present.

The WSR plcs main Coronavirus emergency appeal now stands at £50,983, comprising: £26,715 via website donations, £1,868 in cheque donations, share purchases of £6,400 and station group donations of £16,000.
