Although no less than 772 4F 0-6-0 locomotives were built by the Midland and the London Midland and Scottish Railways between 1911 and 1941 only four survive and only two are in working order. So when 43924 and 44422 are in action during the Spring Steam Gala it will be the first time that a pair has worked on the same section of line since the first part of the 1960’s.
And on Saturday April 29th they will be paired together. Return tickets can be bought at the station booking offices on the day or you can incorporate a trip into a day out with a rover ticket.
