Take the heritage service from Bishops Lydeard at 13.00 and meander through the Quantock Hills and along the coast behind a heritage locomotive taking in the breath-taking scenery. When you arrive in Minehead, you will have plenty of time to explore the town, shops, cafe and beach.
Enjoy your Cream Tea on the return journey leaving Minehead at 15.25 on the majority of dates with a later return time of 16.05 on 14th & 25th May, 11th June and 16th September only.
Please note that this is a fixed return and you must therefore travel on both services marked on your ticket.
Please be aware this special may be hauled by either a steam or diesel locomotive. Please check our timetable to confirm which service will be running.

Please note: There are currently roadworks taking place on the A358 in Taunton - there is a diversion in place heading towards Bishops Lydeard. Therefore, please allow extra time for your journey. A one way single lane closure will be in operation between Silk Mills Roundabout and Manor Road junction for a scheduled 12 week programme between 20th July and October 2026. Traffic will be allowed to access Taunton via the A358 from the Minehead direction. Traffic leaving Taunton towards the west will be directed via Wellington Road (A38) and Silk Mills Road (A3065). Please note that tables are arranged in fours. Groups of less than four may be seated with another party. Please note that your seats will be facing forwards for one leg of the journey and backwards on the other - we are unable to offer forward facing seats in both directions.
