The West Somerset Railway will be welcoming the iconic Sir Nigel Gresley locomotive back for one weekend from 3rd – 5th July.

Daytime Excursions on Saturday 4th July, will see travel from Bishops Lydeard to Minehead return, this will be one of the only opportunities to travel behind Sir Nigel Gresley on both legs of the journey.
Excursion 1: 14.15 from Bishops Lydeard to Minehead , returning at 16.25 from Minehead to Bishops Lydeard behind Sir Nigel Gresley. We are offering a limited number of pre booked Fish and Chips on this service. The fish and chips will be served on the 14.15 service from Bishops Lydeard.

Please be aware that if you wish to begin your journey from Minehead, you may travel on any standard service train from Minehead on Saturday 4th July only to join the 14.15 service departure of Sir Nigel Gresley from Bishops Lydeard. Please note that in this event you will only receive one journey behind Sir Nigel Gresley.
We have 4 accessible spaces on each excursion for passengers who require to remain in their wheelchair during their journey, to book an accessible space please call 01643 704996.
Please note that pets are not permitted to travel on any of our Sir Nigel Gresley services due to the expectation that this will be a very busy event, except for assistance dogs.
Upon arrival at Bishops Lydeard you will be required to park in one of the designated car parks for the event which will be clearly sign posted.
Please bring your email confirmation with you to check in where you will be given your seat reservation.

Bishops Lydeard Station is the southern terminus of the West Somerset Railway and this is where your Sir Nigel Gresley journey begins. It is four miles from the County town of Taunton and the M5 Motorway (Junction 25).
Please be aware that there is a maximum height barrier so access to the car park is for vehicles under 2.1 metres.
