Calling all amateur sleuths!! -Do you see yourself as a Miss Marple or a Jessica Fletcher, Hercule Poirot or Sherlock Holmes? Well, the West Somerset Railway's Murder Mystery season is a must for all you amateur crime fighters. As you go peacefully about your train journey to and from the seaside the actors will be staging a murderous tale for you to try to solve.

Apart from the dastardly doings your steam train ride will also include the following menu choices served to you at your seat as the train leaves Bishops Lydeard at 19.00 plus of course the mystery unfolding before your eyes.

The entertainment begins on the platform promptly at 19.00. Boarding is from 18.45. Passengers should arrive in good time to find their seats, and leave the train again for the first scene on the platform at 19.00. All trains depart from Bishops Lydeard at 19:15 and travel the full length of the line to Minehead and back.You should arrive back at Bishops Lydeard at approx. 23.00.

The dress code is 'smart casual' and we encourage you to enter the spirit of the event by dressing in appropriate period costume if you desire!

There is a bar on the train serving alcoholic and soft drinks, teas and coffees.

These evenings are not suitable for children and dogs are not permitted.

Plot:

The War is over! Peace at last! But the celebrations must wait, as village busybody Evelyn Tentt has just been discovered murdered in the waiting room! Has the lovely Anna Dynn found her to be a constant headache? Has wounded soldier Eamonn Phyre had enough of her probing his war wound? Perhaps local dignitary Lady Wanda Aymlessly is not as dignified as she likes to make out. Whatever the reason, DI Bauls will be assisting your efforts to uncover the truth.

Plot:

The Christmas Special is about to depart but the body of solicitor Harold Aingels has just been discovered hung up by his baubles! Three people were seen arguing with him earlier in the day, but whose seasonal goodwill has run out? Has Yul Logg been burning it at both ends? Is Carole Synger out of tune? Or is Holley-Anne de Ivey feeling too prickly for her own good?
