Our first event of 2026 is to celebrate 50 years of the reopening of the line on the West Somerset Railway.
In 1976 the West Somerset Railway reopened its doors and ran services between Minehead and Blue Anchor. This weekend is dedicated to commemorating this monumentous occasion.
Services will be running between Bishops Lydeard and Minehead through the Quantock Hills and along the Exmoor coast, with 10 idyllic stations to explore and see.
Confirmed home locomotives include:
- WSR Mogul 2-6-0 no.9351
- GWR Manor 4-6-0 no.7812 'Erlestoke Manor'
- Class 35 Hymek D7017
- Class 115 DMU
Additional attractions will also be available, some of which will aim to recreate events that happened on the opening weekend in 1976.
Further information will be available as soon as possible.
Although marked as purple on our timetable, all annual passes, valid vouchers and passes will be accepted on this weekend.
