The service operates on the scenic West Somerset Railway between Bishops Lydeard (near Taunton) and Minehead.  Our diners enjoy good food and excellent company as the train winds its way through the beautiful Quantock Hills, past the ancient port of Watchet and along the coast to Blue Anchor Bay and through to its conclusion at Minehead.

Whatever the occasion may be – a special anniversary or birthday celebration, a cosy dinner for two, or a Sunday lunch out – we are sure you will find dining on the Quantock Belle a delightful and memorable experience.

This year we will be joined by Chef Sam le Roux.

Your journey will start from Bishops Lydeard and will depart at 12.30. Your return journey will be from Minehead and will depart at 15.15.

The Quantock Belle operates on a number of dates and is extremely popular.  Advance booking is therefore mandatory.  Your fare includes:

  • Return travel at your reserved dining table;
  • A three-course meal with tea or coffee served during the journey; (Our menus are just being finalised, and will be added to this page as soon as they are available. If you book before the menu has been confirmed we will contact you as soon as the menus have been finalised).
  • Value Added Tax, as applicable.

A comprehensive bar service, including a varied wine list and soft drinks, is provided to your table by our attentive liveried stewards throughout the day and charged towards the end of your return journey.

A vegetarian option (homemade gluten and dairy-free) is available as an alternative to all advertised menus but we must be notified at the time of booking. If you have any dietary requirements, please let us know on 01643 704996.

Dessert is served on the return journey to Bishops Lydeard and accompanied by a continuous tea and coffee service.

For our afternoon services, once you have arrived in Minehead, you will then have an hour to explore the seaside town before your return service departs.

We are confident you will have a wonderful and memorable day out with us and we look forward to seeing you on "the QB" soon.

Tickets are sold as individual tickets or a guaranteed table for two (price includes a £15 supplement to guarantee your table). The guaranteed table for two ticket covers one table for two people. If you have a group of four people who want to sit together, you need to book four individual tickets.  Please note that if you purchase less than four individual tickets, you may be seated with another party.

Please be aware due to the heritage nature of the stock, we are unable to accommodate mobility scooters and wheelchairs on these services. If you have any accessible requirements, please do give us a call on 01643 704 996.

Please note that no dogs are permitted on this service, with the exception of assistance dogs. Please advise us of this in advance when making your booking.

We recommend arriving 30 minutes before your departure time. This is to ensure you have plenty of time to get seated and settled before your train departs.

Please note that seating on the Quantock Belle is assigned before you arrive. There are three carriages where your seats may be. Seating in each coach is different and unfortunately there is not an option to select where you would prefer your seats to be. Your seating will be appropriate for the size of your booking.

Please note that the times are approximate and may change. If this is the case, we will contact you by email.
