Gold Stage - Steam Engineman Course

This course includes two full round trips from either Minehead to Bishops Lydeard or Bishops Lydeard to Minehead (depending on which date you book) hauling empty coaches.

Participants are required to have taken part in a Bronze Stage Course before being permitted onto the Gold Course. This is so you have all the necessary knowledge required for you to enjoy your day. 

If you have booked for 15th June, your day will start at 07:00 at Bishops Lydeard.

If you have booked for 18th September, your day will start at 07:00 at Minehead. 

There will be 4 participants on each course. 

You will start your day by taking part in prepping the engine. You will have one round trip on the footplate and will do 20 miles of firing and 20 miles driving. For the other round trip, you will be travelling in the train with the Guard, giving you an insight into what their job entails.

As an added experience and subject to availability, you may be able to use the turntable at Minehead in the middle of the day.

The cost of the course also includes lunch and refreshments.  

You must be 18 years+ to take part in the Steam Engineman Courses.

We will need to have confirmation that you have first carried out a Bronze Stage or an old style Stage One course for you to take part in this course, therefore we may be in touch for you to provide a copy of your certificate for completing these courses which can be sent in by email.
